CMNZ’s Christchurch concert manager Jody Keehan got her twins in on the BEETHOVEN reCYCLE action at Michael Houstoun’s 3rd concert in Canterbury on Saturday 6th April. So what did they think?…
David’s first thought on meeting Michael Houstoun is that he looks much taller on his poster! That’s because the first thing David saw as he walked into the foyer of the Grange Theatre was the 6’ banner of Michael’s face. Noticing the copy of the ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ book under David’s arm, Michael pointed at the banner and told him it was a photo of Harry Potter aged 60.
Olivia was privileged to sneak in to hear Michael’s warm up. In her words “It was amazing. I was really excited to hear how fast and well he plays the piano. I was very nervous about being so close to the piano while he was playing because Michael kept looking at me while he was playing, and not looking at the keys or the music. That was a bit freaky for me!”
David and Olivia both said he is a very nice, kind man and they liked listening to him play the piano.
